Our Technology

Canvas offers insights and data integration across various formats, including CAD/BIM models, APIs, and 3D visualizations. Our AI-powered segmentation and measurement technology not only saves time and reduces errors, but also enables new levels of collaboration and decision-making.

Our Expertise

Canvas evolved from Occipital, a pioneer in 3D sensing hardware and software. We started with innovative products like RedLaser, a popular barcode-scanning app with over two million downloads, later acquired by eBay. We continued with the Structure Sensor, the first mobile 3D sensor, successfully funded through a $1.2 million Kickstarter campaign.

With over 15 years of expertise in 3D sensing and computer vision, we hold more than 20 patents, reflecting our commitment to innovation and excellence.

Key investors, including Foundry Group, Intel Capital, Shea Ventures and other prominent venture capital firms, have supported our growth and vision, helping us to transition from hardware to a software-focused approach that leverages cutting-edge technology.

In 2020, when Apple launched iPhones with built-in LiDAR, Canvas was featured in their keynote address as a prime example of the power and potential of this technology. This recognition underscores our leadership in the field and our ongoing dedication to pushing the boundaries of what's possible with computer vision.
